Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly and information generated when you use Seen features.
- Account and auth data: login method data (phone verification and/or connected sign-in providers such as Google or Apple), session information, and profile basics you choose to provide.
- Profile and discovery data: photos, bio, preferences, Seen+ visibility settings, and discovery controls (for example Switch it up and Ghost Mode state).
- Content and communications: messages, media you upload, posts, block/report records, and support-thread interactions.
- Album/media metadata: album identifiers and file metadata needed to deliver Public, Private, and SEEN+ album features.
- Location and presence data: if enabled, location is used for nearby/map/grid experiences and presence updates.
- Diagnostics data: limited device/browser/app context and client errors, including optional sanitized bug-report bundles you submit.
- Notification subscription data: web push subscription endpoints/keys when you opt in.
- Membership/billing references: Seen+ subscription/payment status fields required to manage access (card processing is handled by payment providers, not stored as full card numbers by Seen).
How We Use Information
- Operate core product features such as profile discovery, Map/Grid/Feed, chat, media sharing, albums, Seen List, matches, and Seen+ controls.
- Provide safety features including blocking/reporting, support workflows, and meetup safety check-in escalation paths.
- Protect account integrity, detect abuse, and enforce platform rules.
- Deliver push notifications when enabled.
- Troubleshoot technical issues, improve reliability, and support user-reported bugs.
Meetup Safety and Trusted Contacts
When you use meetup safety features, Seen processes the trusted-contact details you provide (Seen contact and/or verified phone) and the timed session state required to run check-in reminders and escalation flows.
Bug Reports and Optional Support Diagnostic Access
Bug reports can include an optional sanitized debug bundle. You may also grant Seen Support temporary read-only diagnostic access for troubleshooting.
How Media Privacy Is Enforced
- Image uploads are processed with metadata safety protections (including EXIF stripping).
- Media access is scoped by ownership and room/album authorization rules.
- Private album and private chat media are not publicly listed.
Sharing of Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only when necessary to operate the service and only with providers that process data on our behalf (for example hosting/infrastructure, storage, authentication, payments, messaging, and push delivery).
We may also disclose information when required by law, to enforce terms, or to protect users and the service.
Your Choices
- Update profile details and media, including Seen+ visibility preferences.
- Manage discovery controls (Switch it up, hidden mode, Ghost Mode when eligible).
- Block/unblock users and submit user reports.
- Enable/disable notifications in app and browser settings.
- Delete your account and use restore flows when eligible.
- Revoke or renew temporary support diagnostic access from Account.
Security
Seen uses signed sessions and provider verification flows for authentication, plus transport encryption and platform security controls to help protect account integrity and service reliability.
Seen is protected with Cloudflare services including TLS in transit, DDoS mitigation, firewall controls, and rate limiting. No system is 100% secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
Data Retention
We retain information only as long as needed to provide features, enforce safety and legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Retention windows vary by data type (for example, operational logs/events, safety session records, and account-state records).
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will provide notice in the app or on this page.
Terms
By using Seen, you agree to use the service responsibly, comply with applicable laws, and avoid abusive behavior. We may limit or remove access for policy violations to protect the community.
